The apple that Murray posted certainly stands for a big news: No Man’s Sky is to be released on macOS and the iPad. This port has been in the works for a few years now, but until now Apple devices usually didn’t deliver the performance needed to play No Man’s Sky.
However, Apple is now changing that with the new “Metal API”, which makes resolution scaling possible for MacOS devices. Thus, even the entry-level models and IPads should be able to display No Man’s Sky smoothly.
A leaker reports in a relevant Discord that the corresponding update for No Man’s Sky brings many adjustments and innovations for the technology. While searching through the files, he also came across solid new content. However, the leaker says that this content does not seem to be ready and is perhaps reserved for the big summer update.
Leaker finds space stations & expeditions in update file
While the Apple update is meant to benefit Mac fans more and address, improve and fix many technical aspects, content could still appear! After all, the procedural space stations are already in the game files of No Man’s Sky. But here again the warning that the stations could only appear in a following update.
However, the developers have already finished the space stations to such an extent that modders have already integrated them into the current version of the game. The new space stations are interesting because they are always built differently and have a different look due to the way they are generated.
