The newest update for ARK: Survival Evolved on PS4 includes new creatures, customisation options and Tek Tier items, the last of which were previously exclusive to PC versions.
New Additions to ARK: Survival Evolved (PS4)
Tek equipment offers players the opportunity to piece together a cybernetic power suit that could give Samus a run for her money. Of note, there’s anti-gravity boots, jet packs, and an energy rifle. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also Tek equipment for creatures. Yes, that’s right: in this patch, players are able to mount laser guns on dinosaurs.
Speaking of, the inclusion of new creatures adds more dimensions to this unholy cross of pre-history and proto-history. Newcomers include the Basilosaurus, Microraptor, Ammonite, Ovis Aries, Thylacoleo, Baryonyx, and Purlovia. Still, we can’t help but imagine most people will have their hearts set on a cyborg T-Rex.
You can tell that Studio Wildcard understands player needs. The gaming industry gives us so many options as to how to spend our time that sometimes, riding on the back of a prehistoric juggernaut while unloading an assault rifle isn’t enough sometimes. What’s ARK: Survival Evolved’s solution? Put lasers on it.
