You have already played through Resident Evil 8 and the remakes of Resi 2 and Resi 3 are already behind you, then Daymare 1994 Sandcastle and its predecessor is just the thing for you!
Best alternative now playable: If you have already played through all current Resident Evil games, you should keep an eye on Daymare 1998 and its soon-to-be-released successor Daymare 1994 Sandcastle. After all, Daymare itself was once a Resident Evil offshoot.
Daymare 1994: Sandcastle – That offers the continuation
Bumpy history: Daymare 1994 Sandcastle is the sequel to Daymare 1998. This game was created in 2018 as a fan remake for Resident Evil 2. However, Capcom has threatened the developers with a lawsuit if they do not discontinue their project. The reason behind this was of course the Resident Evil 2 Remake, which is in-house and loved by fans.
For the developers at Invader Studios, things couldn’t have gone any better. Daymare 1998 sold like sliced bread not only thanks to the publicity. Thanks to the Resident Evil formula and fresh ideas, Daymare 1998 has been able to excite many players to this day.
First trailer for the successor: Yesterday we were able to see a trailer for Daymare 1994: Sandcastle for the first time. It doesn’t really reveal much about the story or the course of the horror game, but it shows new influences.
In addition, the developers reveal that the sequel should be an even better mix of classic horror food and exciting firefights. In addition, the balance between cut scenes and the actual game should be tweaked. The imbalance in the predecessor Daymare 1998 is considered the greatest weakness for many buyers.
The most important new feature is probably the frost grip. A weapon that can freeze enemies. This is exactly what is required for some types of opponents, otherwise they will surround you or tear you apart at breakneck speed.
When will it come out? Daymare 1994 Sandcastle is slated for release in 2022. Unfortunately, the developers do not give us a more precise date. On the Steam shop page you can already view the first feature lists and pictures and add the horror game to your wish list.
