Activision Blizzard officially announces that they are working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Not only that, but there is even an official release date. We have all the info!
Here's what's going on: There have been rumors, speculations and leaks about Modern Warfare 3 for quite some time, but developer Activision Blizzard has never commented on it. But now they have officially announced that they are working on the direct successor to Modern Warfare 2 and give the release date in a teaser.
This we know: The 42-second teaser doesn't reveal much about the story or gameplay. However, we do know that the third part will directly follow the events of Modern Warfare 2 from 2022. Thus, as it was already teased at the end of part 2, we will fight against the Russian Makarov. So, where there was speculation last year about whether this would be story DLC, we now know; Modern Warfare 3 is coming, and soon.
When is the release? As shown at the end of the teaser, CoD: MW3 is already coming out on November 10, a little over a year after the last installment and precisely 14 years after the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009.
