Building bases is always nice in a survival game, but Dark and Light ups-the-ante by giving you the ability to create entire Fortresses. “That’s just a bigger base,” you say? Our bad, we weren’t aware you built your safe-houses with enchanted materials bonded by arcane forces. Oh wait, you don’t? Aw, that’s okay, not every game gives you the chance to construct ethereal architecture. That’s where Snail Games has you covered.
Base-building in Dark and Light
Following in the steps of other beloved survival games, Dark and Light offers players the ability to build homes amongst the wilderness. Only a few exceptions apply: pre-existing cities and dungeons. Of course, it’ll take you a while to work up to constructing mystical citadels. Starting out, you’re more likely to use basic materials like straw and wood. Don’t worry, though. Soon you’ll be mining for the stone and metal needed to create your dream-house.
Then again, who wants to live in the wilderness? Bunch of savages out there. If you’re looking for a more urban setting, Dark and Light also offers players the ability to buy a house in the aforementioned, preexisting cities. Of course, safety isn’t guaranteed even then. The threat of invasion exists no matter where you set up camp. The thing is, you’re more likely to get help from player-controlled neighbours who have something to lose if the city burns down than some guy wandering the wilderness named “xXxMLG420BlazeItxXx.”
We’ll have more coverage on Dark and Light’s progress as Snail Games rolls it out. For more tasty nuggets of info, make sure to frequent our page, the Steam store page, and the official website.
