Forbidden Forgiveness is an upcoming psychological horror game and the first game from the developers GeekyMouse. It takes an interesting turn on the first-person horror games as puzzles and dimensions play a huge part.
Puzzle your way out
So far we know the games most important features: Firstly, players have a lot of autonomy as there are a lot of different choices to make. These decisions go even further as the game forces you to make decisions regarding the NPCs, which let you question if the ones you encounter are evil or benevolent. The choices you make during the story and in the different dimensions will determine the end of the game. Because of this, the game will have multiple endings, giving it a replayable factor. Secondly, you won’t just encounter puzzles to open doors, they are also part of the combat system. Beating enemies is done by a puzzle system where you get penalized for incorrect solutions. However, fighting isn’t always an option, wich means there is only one option left: run fast.
A feeling of tension
The new teaser of Forbidden Forgiveness doesn’t give any insight on the story, dimensions or puzzles. Yet, it gives a good perspective on the atmosphere of the game and what horrors you might encounter. Besides that, if the music of the teaser is a preview of what we can expect in the game, it surely will be a scary experience.
Forbidden Forgiveness will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox. The specific date hasn’t been announced yet, but it won’t be earlier than the end of 2018. As the game takes an interesting mix of horror and puzzle elements, we are looking forward to the first gameplay video.
