What Actually is this "Lude Cat"?

Lude Cat is a video game tournament in which the players compete in teams against each other in different, previously unknown games, sitting on the sofa on stage. A special feature of this is that no one needs any prior knowledge, not even gaming experience is necessary! In this way, we address a very broad target group, from young to old. Lude Cat shows are therefore both a tournament and a party, it's all about the fun of the game!

Initiated in 2016 at the FH Salzburg, approx. 8–10 events take place every year. Currently in Salzburg, as well as on tour in Germany as part of NERDIC in Town, and at trade fairs such as CAGGTUS Leipzig, IFA Berlin, or GG Bavaria.

Especially at fairs, several hundred people are not only reached but encouraged to play along, while many more enthusiastically join in, cheer, and watch!

Editor's note: We at Guided.news have already been able to play along with Lude Cat as part of the Nerdic in Town. The whole idea and the implementation are a lot of fun, and you can play the individual games right away after a test round. Even though we didn't win, we had a lot of fun.

Who, How and Where can you Participate?

Up to 32 teams compete against each other in different, previously unknown video games. While the audience cheers along, the couch on the stage becomes the emotional center of the competition for the players.

Professional moderation and live commentary ensure a hot atmosphere and cool insights, and the event is also broadcast as a live stream. Each event is attended by around 250 - 300 people, and several thousand people have been reached via stream or streamers. At the 15th edition on 6 October, our audience can expect a show with a best-of line-up from the last few years, as well as the most exciting new discoveries from our on-tour events through Germany!

Our partnered team, consisting of Sandra, our Videodienstleister Simon, Felix, and Thilo recorded a lot of content with professional equipment from RØDE and Grover. Stay tuned and hyped about our upcoming interviews and insights from the Gamescom 2023.
