During the Microsoft vs. FTC (Federal Trade Commission) court case, many previously secret game projects emerge. Among other things, the existence of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 for 2023 now seems confirmed.

What's going on? Several leaks are currently occurring during the court case between Microsoft and the FTC. Most recently, active work on the successor DayZ 2 was reported here. But now it's hitting AAA publishers as well, and a new Call of Duty for 2023 is falling under the leak hammer.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is supposed to come in 2023, says FTC Judge

As reported by the website CharlieIntel (via twitter), a judge has confirmed the existence of Call of Duty 2023. The upcoming title is said to be a full spin-off of the series. It is also known that the new installment of the series will be released in November this year. The official Twitter account for Call of Duty has also shined with a reaction:

Is it MW3? Already a few weeks ago, there were first rumors that Modern Warfare 3 was in development. At that time, industry leaker Tom Henderson reported the following aspects about the new Call of Duty:

  • Developed by Sledgehammer
  • Campaign, multiplayer, zombies and warzone expansions.
  • Direct successor to Modern Warfare 2.
  • Las Almas is the name of the new Warzone map
  • There will be a playable beta.

The dates for the beta are also already set in stone, according to Henderson. So the MW3 beta will start on October 06, the second beta on October 12. Pre-orderers will get advance access to the campaign on November 02, before Modern Warfare 3 is then released on November 10 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One & Series as well as the PC.
