The shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from developer Activision will be released in October 2022. There will be a lot of weapons again. Many of them were not known to the public until now. A few weapons were only confirmed by the gameplay trailer. But in the past few days, a list of many weapon names was leaked.

Here’s the deal: The source of the leak calls itself RealiityUK. The source is said to have obtained the sensitive information through data mining. This was made possible by the code from Warzone Mobile. Since the games share the same engine, RealiityUK was able to access the data. But how seriously should we take this leak? It can be assumed that this is real information. At least Activision took the leak seriously and reacted to it quickly. That’s why RealiityUK’s Twitter account was blocked within a very short time.

Compiling a complete list of weapons is difficult, because many weapons are hidden behind aliases. We have tried to interpret the information as best we can. Nevertheless, be warned, the following weapon lists are a leak and our guesses. No information from the leak has been confirmed by Activision yet.

These are the assault rifles from the Modern Warfare 2 weapon leak.

Probably the biggest selection of weapons is in the assault rifle category. Activision has used many code names here. Some of them can’t be clearly assigned. However, one of the codenames is constantly repeated. It is the word “kilo”. This will probably be an alias for the “AK” type of weapon. We have summarized our guesses as to which weapon is hidden behind which code name here.

The number of possible precision and sniper rifles is not particularly large so far. On the other hand, Activision hasn’t really obscured the names and they can be assigned relatively clearly.

When it comes to submachine guns, many codenames are difficult to decipher. We have summarized many guesses and already confirmed weapons from the trailer for you:

Shotguns & machine guns from the weapons leak

Shotguns: The four shotguns mentioned in the leak are quite manageable. Besides the 725 (codename Lockwood 725), the mike1014 is probably the XM1014. However, two of the code names cannot really be matched. They are the mkviktor and Bryson 800.

Machine guns: With the RAAL MG and the Bruen MK 9, two of the weapons are listed with their correct names. Additionally, the alias mkilo3 could be the MG3 of the German Army.
