February is a good month for fans of survival games, building strategy and top-class action thrillers. We offer an overview of this week’s top game releases, including the PC version of Returnal and Koei Tecmo’s Monster Hunter clone Wild Hearts.
What it’s all about: Great times are just dawning for gamers, with plenty of top-notch titles to look forward to between February and April. After Hogwarts Legacy got the gaming year 2023 off to a bombastic start, more promising productions are now preparing to tie us gamers to the gaming chair. Right this week!
Between February 13th and 19th, potential hits like Wild West Dynasty, Returnal and Wild Hearts will lay claim to hard drive space. But there are also a few surprises waiting in the wings aside from the more well-known names. The following weekly overview will tell youwhich games we’re talking about.
These Hopeful Games Will be Released Soon
February 14th
- Wanted: Dead
The new “hybrid slasher and shooter” from the makers of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive puts you in the work of the Zombie Unit for a week. The elite unit is supposed to uncover a large corporate conspiracy.
February 15th
- Operation Harsh Doorstop
This tactical first-person shooter wants to offer a free alternative to genre greats like Arma. It is primarily created as a counter to questionable monetization models, namely lootboxes and predatory microtransactions.
- Pharao: A New Area
The original game Pharaoh was released back in 1999 under the Sierra Entertainment label. In this 4K remake, you’ll once again build ancient Egypt over a period of 4000 years.
- Plan B: Terraform
Building strategy on a newly discovered planet that strongly resembles Mars. Your task is to warm up the atmosphere, create rivers and seas, and grow forests. Of course, you’ll also have to take care of the needs of colonists, who will gradually build a large city on the planet.
- Returnal
This third-person shooter with a sci-fi theme and bullet-hell elements was a huge success on consoles. Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to fight your way through ancient alien ruins with heroine Selene in a fancier look on PC.
February 16th
- Shadow Warrior 3 Definitive Edition
Yes, the shooting samurai Lo Wang will now try to restore his reputation with a Definitive Edition. Promised are both a survival and hero mode, a New Game Plus option, a hardcore difficulty, and crisp 4K visuals.
- Wild Hearts
So Koei Tecmo wants to give it a try; it sends Far Eastern heroes on an action-heavy monster hunt. In the acrobatic Monster Hunter clone, you use “ancient technology to slay giant beasts”. This is not only possible in a single-player mode, but also in cross-platform co-op.
- Wild West Dynasty
Survival games are a dime a dozen, but even with a Wild West setting? No, not really. In Wild West Dynasty, you pursue the goal of expanding a ranch into a settlement. In addition to the survival aspect, elements of role-playing, city-builder and life simulation are to be combined.

- SpaceBourne 2
The space sandbox SpaceBourne 2 combines classic shoot ’em up action with modern exploration, just like its predecessor. Single players can join one of seven guilds and complete many side missions besides the main story.
- The Settlers: New Allies
In the first attempt, Ubisoft scared the fans away with the new Settlers concept. In a few days, the real-time strategy is now to be relaunched in a revised version. We will see if a reconciliation with the gamers will be possible.
