Gameplay Reveal for the Shooter STRIDEN & Promises of the Developer
MathChief has shown gameplay of STRIDEN on their YouTube channel and shared some useful information we don’t want to keep from you. According to the developer, STRIDEN is supposed to be a simple and classic FPS game with a clear focus on fun, and the playtime of a round is supposed to be short and crisp.
You’ll play in a team of 4 players each, with a total of 5 teams per round. According to the developer, STRIDEN offers unique gameplay that “has been missing for years”. In STRIDEN, you and your team must combine strategy, fast gun play, and teamwork to win.
The choice of characters also plays an important role. There are 5 different classes you can choose from.
The classes from STRIDEN are the following:
- Soldier
- Engineer
- Medic
- Scout
- Support
STRIDEN also tries to convince us that the game world feels open, even though it is not an open world.
Gameplay of STRIDEN is divided into 3 phases
The game and the rounds are always divided into 3 phases. We summarize for you everything we know so far about the individual phases.
Phase I – Exploring & Looting: At the beginning, the goal is to find resources as quickly as possible. These include food and drinks, as well as weapon parts and cash.
Phase II – Capture & Survive: You and your team need to survive. To do this, use the loot you found in Phase I and beware of the radioactive fog because it’s not only enemies that can harm you here.
Phase III – Escape: Finally, it’s all about escaping. After the fog clears, you’ll have to reach a safe zone to escape. However, some players will meet you there, and you’ll need 90 seconds to escape successfully.
You can add the game to your wishlist on Steam starting January 27, 2023. What do you think of the gameplay so far? Tell us in the comments below.
