Horror freaks watch out! Starting December 18th, the Sweet Home series could fill your Netflix watchlist with vibrant images from Korean production. The release of the first season is accompanied by a wicked trailer.
Those who enjoyed the underlying webtoon of the same name by Kim Kan-bi and Hwang Young-chan should definitely be happy with the new series by the creator of Descendants of the Sun, Lee Eung-Bok.
What it’s about: Sweet Home is about a teenager and his neighbors who fight against brutal monsters for survival. The government declares a state of emergency because it expects to face a pandemic. They describe symptoms that should warn people. Almost a bit too much “2020”, isn’t it?
“IT’S NOT A DESEASE. IT’S A CURSE.”
Towards the end, however, the trailer reveals that it could well be a curse – not a disease at all. To keep you from stalling any longer than necessary – here’s the Netflix trailer for Sweet Home!
Sweet Home – What the community says about the upcoming Netflix series
What the fans say: The comment column of our colleagues from bloody-disgusting.com celebrates the trailer properly! One could even speak of a hype. It did not take in any case long, until already in the first comment the comparison to Train to Busan was drawn. But also #Alive, a really good Korean horror movie on Netflix, reminds me of Sweet Home.
Other fans are at least as pleased. Some insights into the first reactions:
- “Great!”
- “Fantastic!”
- “So far I’ve avoided all ghost stories and family dramas on Netflix – but this is a whole new level. I will see all of it as soon as the series is available!”
- “Looks great!”
- “Holy sh**, that looks really great. It’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun!”
Your opinion: What do you think of the trailer? Will you indulge in a pre-Christmas attack of horror and action and binge-watch all the episodes at once? Or do you prefer to take it slowly? Let’s get into the comments!
