Insider Says Microsoft Stops $1 Game Pass Deal

On Sunday, the first rumors emerged that Microsoft would scrap the $1 Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate trial. This morning this is confirmed. Via TheVerge, Microsoft is now also giving why this is the case and promising fans a significant improvement in the Game Pass payment model in return.

The reasons that have led to this decision, according to Microsoft, do not yet seem as concrete as one would expect from a huge corporation. This is mainly because they do not want to name the real reasons. Because the consumers are to blame, or more precisely they abuse of them. Because until now, it was possible to take out the $1 trial subscription again and again instead of paying the $12 in order to get permanently cheap access. We have received exclusive information from insiders about this, you can read more about it in our article.

Dark and Darker Disappeared from Steam

The popular Extraction RPG Dark and Darker by developer Ironmace has suddenly disappeared from the Steam platform. The last playtests were still occurring, and up to 70,000 players were enthusiastic about the game. The title is still in development and is scheduled for release towards the end of 2023. The next playtest was announced for April, but now the game has disappeared. A DMCA strike by the Korean developer Nexon is to blame.

According to the DMCA, the developers of Ironmace stole the idea for Dark and Darker after Nexon wanted to develop such a game but then discontinued it. One of the founders of Ironmace is said to have been involved in the development at Nexon at the time and is now accused of using the idea without permission for his own studio. But Ironmace is also said to have stolen assets from Nexon.

The developers claim these are false accusations and will clarify the situation as quickly as possible. So it remains to be seen whether the April playtest will still occur.
