Warhammer 40k Darktide is out and presents you with a choice of home world right at the start of the game, but what exactly changes with your decision? We’ll explain it to you now!
What’s it about? Warhammer 40k Darktide starts like many games of its kind in the character creation. Here you specify your home planet, among other things. Darktide doesn’t tell you directly what the choice of the home world is all about. But that’s what you have us for, right?
What changes with the choice of the home world in Warhammer 40k Darktide?
Right at the beginning of Darktide, you create your first agent and the very first question you have to answer is: Which planet in the Moebian sector is your home world? Here you have the choice of eight different planets. Whereby, the world Cadia only consists of single fragments. All these planets are located in the same sector and partly reflect the locations of many of the different missions. You can choose from the following home worlds.
All 8 planets in the selection
- Crucis
- Messelina Gloriana
- Rocyria
- Branx Magna
- Incron
- Cadia
- Mornax
- Pavane
Let’s assume you have just spontaneously decided on a home world in Darktide. Next would be the compilation of your background story. Childhood experiences, history of your early youth and formative events. This is followed by the actual character creation. Here you choose skin color, gender, hair and eyes. And here comes the crux:
What difference does the home world make? Strictly speaking, there is no right or wrong when choosing your home world. The decision merely changes some lines of dialogue in the game and gives you the option to use exclusive eye colors. Only agents who come from the planet Cadia (or what’s left of it) can have pink and purple eye colors.

Is more exclusive content from choosing a home world in Darktide coming in the future?
It’s not inconceivable that more planet-exclusive cosmetics await us over the lifetime of Warhammer 40k Darktide. We knocked on developer Fatshark’s door this morning and asked. As soon as we get an answer from the developers, we will of course update this article.
