In a development blog for Wild West Dynasty, publisher Toplitz Productions answered some of the community’s questions about the upcoming survival build-up game, including what the roadmap for Wild West Dynasty 2023 will look like.
What it’s about: Back in August at gamescom 2022, we learned some interesting things in a conversation with Mathias Oertel from Toplitz Productions. In the current Dev Blog, there is again some new information that we will present to you today. It’s about the roadmap for 2023, how rough the wild west really is and what gameplay you can expect.

New Information about Wild West Dynasty thanks to Dev Blog
As part of a dev blog on YouTube, Mathias Oertel from Toplitz Productions answered some questions from the community, and we now summarize the answers about the future of Wild West Dynasty for you.
How wild will the Wild West be?
One question deals with how rough it will be in Wild West Dynasty. The answer to this is relatively simple. You decide how much violence you want to use as a gunslinger to protect yourself and your settlement or to attack others. The reputation system will also play a big role in this. You will not only have a global reputation but also personal relationships with NPCs.
However, the Wild West is logically not a bed of roses. Especially if you’re going to hunt for bounties, it will be difficult to solve the conflicts with just nice words.
So we can be curious to see how peacefully we can really play Wild West Dynasty, and whether that will be just as much fun as shooting wildly through the area.
How the Building Mode works
There is also some new information about the build mode in Wild West Dynasty. These mainly relate to how much and where you can build everywhere.
Where can you build? Theoretically, you can build your settlement anywhere. There will be hardly any restrictions. Of course, you will be somewhat limited by the terrain, for example by large rock formations, mountains, or bodies of water. However, just because you can build anywhere doesn’t mean you should.
How much can be built? The question is less about the building limit of the buildings and more about the number of settlements. Because yes, the game even allows you to build multiple settlements that are then connected to each other. For example, a caravan can bring raw materials to the blacksmith, who processes the raw materials into weapons, and these in turn have to go to another settlement to be sold there. However, here again, you have full freedom, whether you build several settlements and how many is up to you.
What Gameplay awaits you in Wild West Dynasty?
According to Toplitz Productions, Wild West Dynasty is a melting pot of different genres. Each of them depends on your play style or level in the game and, accordingly, will sometimes be more noticeable and sometimes less.
The genres that clash in Wild West Dynasty are the following:
- Role Play: Various quests and corresponding character development provide a role-playing feeling in the Wild West setting.
- Survival: Of course, you also have to try to survive and explore a wild world. However, the survival elements should not be as restrictive as in Medieval Dynasty, for example.
- Resource Management: Not only do you have to keep your own resources together, but you also have to control how your settlements trade with each other so that there are no shortages or surpluses.
- Life Simulation: As in Medieval Dynasty, you play a character. You can try to find a partner for life and possibly even produce an heir. This heir can then continue the settlements after your death and continue your work. This is a feature that we in the editorial team already found very good in Medieval Dynasty.
This is the Roadmap for 2023
Since the game hasn’t been released yet, the publisher is holding back on a detailed roadmap for now. However, a date has already been set. On February 16, 2023, the Early Access phase for Wild West Dynasty will start, and at that time the game should already have so much content that dozens of hours can be played, depending on the play style, of course.
Future Updates: Of course, more content is to follow after the February launch. In addition to optimizations and bug fixes, monthly updates with new content are also planned. However, directly after the release of the Early Access version, an update is to follow at two-week intervals in order to quickly deliver and test new content.
