There were still some weak points in the last part of the series. However, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom now makes cooking much easier with recipe cards and mobile cooking stations.

Here's the deal: Cooking was a central part of the game in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, Link could only prepare his food at permanently installed cooking stations in the game world. Furthermore, there was no way to save a specific dish. There will also be a cooking system in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but it will be much more convenient.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom introduces Recipe Cards for Cooking

To explore all of Hyrule, it was inevitable in Breath of the Wild to deal with cooking. Because through different dishes, you could gain different buffs and effects. For example, some dishes protected you from cold, others from heat. Still, others provided you with more life for a short time.

The big problem, however, was that you had to write down each recipe, since there was no way to re-cook or save a dish in the game. Zelda: TotK makes cooking extremely easy here and introduces recipe cards that you can then conveniently re-cook at any time.

Cook when and where you want

Another new feature is the mobile cooking pot you get in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. With it, you'll be able to cook whenever and wherever you travel. Thus, you'll no longer have to rely on fixed campfire spots that force you to take a detour.

However, not all annoying aspects of cooking have been eliminated. You'll still have to put each ingredient into the pot individually and then watch until the dish is ready.
