In DayZ, broken bones quickly pose an existential threat, and only a splint or splint can provide relief. We’ll now tell you how to make them and how to treat your broken bones!
DayZ’ treats leg breaks strangely: There are many ways in DayZ how you can break your legs: Among other things, a high fall leads to a fracture, but not as usual, decided purely by the height of the fall! Instead, there is a value that goes up with each fall and then goes down over time. If you exceed a critical threshold, your legs are broken. Don’t forget, though: explosions and firearms can also shatter your bones.
Make a splint in DayZ – Only a few ingredients needed
How do you make a splint? To make a splint in DayZ, you will need short sticks and scraps of cloth.
- 2x Short stick
- 4x rags
- or 1x bandage
Sticks can be obtained by gathering from bushes, but then long ones — just break them, this works without tools. Rags are obtained by tearing clothes. Bandages, on the other hand, can be found in clinics or hospitals. To build the splint, you resort to the classic DayZ crafting of connect and click:
How to build a splint in DayZ:
- Open your inventory
- Drag the sticks to your hand
- Now drag the scraps of cloth or the bandage to your hand to the “combine” field.
- Your inventory will close by itself.
- Scroll, this is how you switch through the different crafting options
- Once you have found the “splint”, hold left click.
To use the splint now, just hold it in your hand and left-click again. If this worked, you will see the splint/splint on your leg. You can now walk again without fainting. However, you cannot sprint or climb.

How long does the healing process of broken bones take in DayZ?
How long it takes for your broken bone to heal depends on your health. Also, whether you continue to take damage or take a break from battles and fights has an impact. In our tests, we came up with the following results:
- Heal without taking damage: Approx. 15 minutes
- Healing with damage: 25 – 30 minutes
Our tip: If you have a broken bone, stay away from enemies, highly frequented places, and camps and eat well! Then nothing will stand in the way of fast healing with your broken bone in DayZ — Having a splint on the hand can’t hurt either.
