Trophy hunters may already know about the mysterious Peng Treasure from the original Dead Space. In the remake, however, it is located in a different place. Our guide tells you where to find this valuable collectible.
What exactly is this Peng Treasure? Besides top-notch survival horror the original Dead Space also offered strong incentives for trophy hunters. One of these trophies (“There’s always Peng”) could be earned by finding the Peng Treasure.
However, the said trophy was also interesting for those who just wanted to dismember necromorphic aliens, because the Peng Treasure was “endowed” with a rather lavish 30,000 credits. A sum that could buy you lots of ammunition and upgrades.
The Peng Treasure is back: Now the sought-after item is also waiting in the Dead Space remake to be bagged by Isaac, but it can’t be found in the known location. Below you can find out where exactly you have to look for the stony trophy.

Just where is the Peng Treasure in Dead Space Remake?
What hasn’t changed from the original game is the chapter where the Peng treasure can be found: “Alternative Solutions”. Yes, you will have to play your way to the eleventh chapter of the story to get your hands on it. There, you’re being assigned the task to activate the crane in the cargo hold. This is the crane that transports the black and red marker (the infamous alien artifact).
Once you’ve left the larger elevator platform there, you’ll see a collection of gray crates right behind you. Use Isaac’s kinesis ability to move the crates aside.

This will open the way to some interactive cabinets, one of which contains the valuable Peng Treasure. As soon as you put your hands on the statue, the “There’s always Peng” trophy will be unlocked automatically. However, you won’t get the 30,000 credits for your find per se; you’ll have to sell the treasure at a shop of your choice.

By the way: A text log near the loading ramp suggests that Isaac is not quite legally taking the Peng Treasure. Because in the respective note, the author talks about how happy he is to now have his “very own Peng”. On the other hand, this employee has probably long since passed away, so we may be talking about a gray area here.
