Get new Dwarfs in Dwarf Fortress
In Dwarf Fortress there are only limited possibilities to increase your population. On top of that, it’s also difficult to influence these possibilities. First, however, you should know a few facts when it comes to getting more dwarves for your fortress.
You should pay attention to this if you want to get new dwarves:
- Immigrants will only join your realm up to a limit of 200 inhabitants.
- Once a season a group of immigrants will join your empire.
- No dwarves will join you in the first winter.
Attract new Immigrants in Dwarf Fortress
One way is to attract new dwarves. Every season a group of dwarves comes to your fortress and joins your realm. The skills are randomly distributed but are also based on those that are most used in your fortress. Sometimes the immigrants also bring children or animals, which then also join. How many dwarves join your empire depends on several factors.
This way you can influence the migration:
- Create enough beds, dormitories, meeting halls, taverns, and much more.
- Design your fortress with high-quality objects.
- Make sure there is little bloodshed. The more dwarves die, the less dwarves will join your colony.
