Many players in online mode, or even in matches against their friends, suffer from spam attacks. It’s quite frustrating and discouraging, especially if we’re talking about crouching attacks, which can be spammed continuously. In this guide, we will show you how to counter crouching attack spam in Mortal Kombat 1.
In general, there are 3 ways you can prevent your opponent from spamming you. Each of them is described in detail below, so check out our guide to understand how to proceed.
MK1: How To Counter Crouching Attack Spam
Spam attacks do not require much skill. Even top players often face this problem and complain about unfair play due to spam attacks. Crouching Attack is probably the most insidious of them all because it can counterattack almost all combo. Luckily, there are several methods you can use to avoid it, namely:
- Crouching attack in return: The first and quite interesting way is to attack with the same punch in return. It’s worth noting that you need to know when to hit. If your opponent does a combo and then uses a crouching attack to prevent you from doing a combo back, then use the crouching attack first. If your opponent is a spammer, then during the match you will learn their strategy and can counterattack in time. The point is that you will have an advantage, and after they finish the combination and want to do a crouching attack, you will have time to do it faster. This way, you are guaranteed an opportunity to counterattack the enemy every time before one tries to do this nasty trick.
- Block: The second way is to simply block the attack. There is nothing complicated about it, all you need to do is crouch down in time and apply the block, after which you can successfully counterattack. Please keep in mind that you need to crouch down because if you use the block in a straight stance, the crouching attack will still hit you.
- Throw: If you use a throw, you are also guaranteed to hit the enemy. It’s all based on math, so your action will be much faster than your opponent’s punch while they crouch down and do it. This way, you can not only avoid the attack, but also deal decent damage in return if you combine the throw with a few more punches to make a combo.
Talking about combos though, you can check a few of our guide on different characters combos in MK1:
These three methods will be enough to effectively counterattack the enemy. Now you can go into battle without worrying about spammers.
