EA’s new shooter Immortals of Aveum lacks the big guns typical for the genre, instead, you use sigils and magic. Anyway, what are these sigils and how do they work exactly? Our guide has all the infos on this topic.
Here’s the deal: The so-called sigils in Immortals of Aveum are pieces of gear you attach to your right arm. They serve as weapons and have different properties and strengths, depending on the type. There are a total of 39 sigils in the entire game (15 red, 11 green, and 13 blue). In this guide, we’ll explain how the sigils work, which ones are available, and how you can equip them.
The Sigils in Immortals of Aveum
Like I mentioned, you use sigils and magic in Immortals of Aveum instead of weapons and ammo. There are three different categories of sigils, each belonging to its type of magic. With the help of these items you can use the respective magic and use different skills:
- Blue sigils for skills with high attack range.
- Green sigils for high fire rate and target-seeking projectiles.
- Red seals for close combat skills with high damage.
The rarity a the sigil is coherent with its power. So the rarer your sigil, the more powerful the associated ability. You can equip one sigil of each color and thus carry three sigils at the same time. You can then switch between these three “weapons” at will during combat. As the game progresses, you will get more and more sigils of each color. The more sigils you have, the larger your repertoire of abilities becomes. The individual pieces of equipment differ in various areas such as:
- Damage
- Fire rate
- Ammo capacity
- Reload time
- Range
In addition, some sigils enhance certain abilities, strengthen your armor, or increase your life regeneration. To change your equipped sigils, you need to equip your desired sigil in the menu under “Gear”. Depending on whether you prefer to follow a neat run-and-gun playstyle, take down your opponents from a distance, or compete in melee combat, you can follow different playstyles with the right sigil combination.
You can also upgrade sigils in a forge. Upgrading a sigil in a forge increases its stats and requires the appropriate essence color based on the sigil’s magic type.
