You need Ornate Keys to open certain locked chests, but the game won’t tell you where to find them. This guide will give you all the necessary information on how to get Ornate Keys in Mortal Kombat 1.
While playing Invasion mode, you will come across chests that can only be opened with Ornate Keys. To get them, you’ll need to visit the shops we’ll be telling you about. Below, you can find out where you can buy Ornate Keys.
Where To Buy Ornate Keys in Mortal Kombat 1
To obtain Ornate Keys, you will need to buy them from vendors scattered around the game map. You’ll pay 100 crowns per Ornate Key, but remember that you can’t buy more than one item from one vendor.
You can usually get these items from collectors. However, you can also buy them from other vendors as you travel around the map, or you can simply go to the Pause menu and select the Shop tab.
Stores in Invasion mode are marked with a blue, six-armed Naknadan character. Keep in mind that the selection is constantly being updated, so you may not always be able to find the item you want at the vendor. However, you can try returning to the main menu, then returning to Invasion mode and checking that the Ornate Key is available in the shop.
If it is, you will need to make sure that you have an empty slot for the key. If not, sell one of the 5 items in your inventory to buy the Ornate Key.
How to Use Ornate Keys in MK1
While exploring Invasion mode, you may come across one of the locked chests, which will indicate that you need an Ornate Key to unlock it. These chests can give you several good rewards at once, such as talismans, relics, gear, or palettes for different characters. We recommend that you carry several of these keys with you, as these chests can be found literally anywhere. When you find a locked chest that requires an Ornate Key, walk up to it and click Open.
