It might as well be simple: Are you the owner of the first Overwatch and even still have that installed? Congratulations in this case, because all you have to do is download and install a 20 gigabyte update file. You are already the owner of Overwatch 2 and have saved yourself the hassle of downloading it. If that doesn't work, you can manually check your game files for updates. Select "Scan and repair" in the start options.
What all users need before downloading is an account on Battle.net. To do this, simply register on the developers' website if you don't already have a Battle Net account. By the way, you don't need a phone number anymore! Until now, you were required to add a valid cell phone number to your account. Blizzard changed that just a few hours ago, and now you can manage without a phone number.
How do I log in with a console? Once you've created your Battle Net account, you'll need to link it to your PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch account. To do this, jump to the "Connections" tab on account.battle.net. Click "+Connect" on the corresponding account and log in.
