How to Unlock the Golden Weapon for every Hero in Overwatch 2
It takes a while to unlock the golden weapons for your heroes. That’s why we’re going to explain to you one by one how to get the weapons. We’ll start with the basic requirements that you have to fulfill.
Prerequisite: Firstly, you have to unlock the competition mode. To do that, you need to win at least 50 times in Quick Play. After that, you can be ranked in the competitive mode. Thereby you get so-called Competitive Points (CP). After each match, you get a certain number of these points. These are also necessary for getting the golden weapon skins.
The outcome of the match is decisive for the number of CP generated. Here you have an overview of how many points you get for which result.
- Victory = 15 CP
- Draw = 5 CP
These are the Ranks in Overwatch 2
You are probably wondering what the CP are good for. You need them to rise in the ranking. We have briefly summarized all the ranks and how many CP are necessary for this.
You can find a list of all ranks here:
- Grandmaster: 1,750 CP
- Master: 1,200 CP
- Diamond: 750 CP
- Platinum: 500 CP
- Gold: 250 CP
- Silver: 125 CP
- Bronze: 65 CP

How to Get the Golden Gun Skin in Overwatch 2
To unlock the golden weapons, you need to collect at least 3,000 CP. Since each win equals 15 CP and each draw equals 5 CP, you have to play well enough to end up somewhere in that spectrum:
- 200 Wins or
- 600 Draws
After you have collected the points, you still need to activate the weapon. Just follow these steps to do so:
- Collect 3,000 CP.
- Go to the main menu.
- Click on Heroes.
- Select your hero.
- Scroll down to the Weapons tab.
- Search for the golden variant and activate it.
Now you can use the golden weapon skin for your hero.
