Once you have made some progress in Sons of the Forest, you will want to explore the game’s mysterious story. However, to progress in the story at the end, you require two items that are not easy to obtain; the golden armor and the golden mask. You can find both of them in the same place.
What you need: To get far enough into the bunker, you need the following items:
- Maintenance key card
- Optional: Shotgun (many enemies)
Here you can find the bunker: Both items can be found in a large bunker complex southeast of the island. We have marked the location once for you, but it is also indicated in the game with a green marker:
Once inside the bunker complex, you must fight through various enemies. So prepare yourself well. First and foremost, you will encounter cave cannibals, finger mutants, baby mutants, and a new type of enemy. But they are all very easy to defeat with a shotgun.
Here you will Find the Golden Armor
Go deeper and deeper in the bunker until you reach level 2. Here you need the maintenance key card to gain access. A cutscene will play, so you are in the right place. Once you have gained access, you will find several living rooms full of items on the right side of the corridor. To get the golden armor, you must go a few rooms further and find it on one of the sofas.

You must go deeper into the complex to find the golden mask. So leave the room again and run down the stairs to level 5. A new enemy awaits you here, but you can quickly defeat him with the shotgun.
Run along the long corridor, and you will come to a morgue. One of the corpses on the table on the right has the golden mask.
If you open the door in the hallway with the maintenance key card, you can get back to the surface more quickly.
Finally, we have summarized the whole thing in a video. As mentioned at the beginning, we cut out most of the fights in the video and removed the cutscene.
