Everything you need to know about Grimoires & Scriptures in Warhammer 40k Darktide
Unlike Warhammer Vermintide, Warhammer 40k Darktide also has collectible items, which can only be found in specific missions. Grimoires are also back in Darktide, but instead of the well-known Tomes, there are Scriptures that you can find. The effects and uses of the objects in both games are very similar.
Here you will find the Grimoires and Scriptures: The biggest difference to Vermintide is that there aren’t always fixed locations for the items on each map. There seem to be several possible locations for Grimoires and Scriptures in Darktide, but these items only appear if you select one of the missions that list them as a second target.

This is what grimoires and scriptures do in Warhammer 40k Darktide:
- They increase the experience and money at the end of the round.
- They have various negative effects:
- Grimoires: Inflict corruption, causing you to lose part of your life bar. They also occupy an equipment slot and cannot be discarded quickly.
- Scriptures: Also occupy an equipment slot but can be briefly discarded to use other consumable equipment.
Since you can’t put down a grimoire once you’ve picked it up, you should think carefully about whether you can take it upon yourself with your current group to do the mission with fewer lives from now on. However, if you still want to remove it due to the negative effects, you can pick it up and destroy it with the attack button. You also lose the Grimoire if you die or leave the game due to a disconnect.
