With the Pre-Release Update 1.0.8, weapon crafting was introduced in Warhammer 40,000 Darktide, and we'll show you how the system works.

What it's about: Already in Vermitide, the predecessor of Darktide, there was a forge where you could improve your weapons. Now there's the equivalent in Darktide, and we'll explain the crafting system for weapons and how you can improve them.

How Weapon Crafting works in Warhammer 40k: Darktide

On the Morningstar, the hub in Darktide, there is the Shrine of Omnissiah. There you will find a tech priest where you can improve your weapons with blessings. We'll explain in detail how the whole thing works.

Find Hadron at the Shrine of Omnissiah

First, you need to find the crafting station for the weapons. What was the forge in Vermitide is now the Shrine of Omnissiah. There you will meet the tech priest Hadron Omega-7-7.

Who is Hadron? Hadron Omega-7-7 is a tech priest who specializes in improving the weapons from Darktide. He can apply boons to your weapons for a fee, or remove boons if you sacrifice the weapon. We'll tell you what he can do in detail in a moment.

Here you see Hadron, the tech priest. He will improve your weapons.

How to find the Shrine of Omnissiah: Since Hadron was only added with the 1.0.8 update, it hasn't been there for the last 2 weeks. You can find him pretty quickly, though, if you start on the Morning Star and then keep to the right.

How to Craft better Weapons

There are five different actions that you can perform at the shrine. We will briefly introduce them to you.

Consecration: you'll improve the rarity level and strength of your weapon. It also adds a random perk or blessing, depending on the level. So far, only consecrating a weapon works as well. The rest won't be unlocked until the release on November 30.

These are the costs for each level:

  • White to Green: 150 Plasteel.
  • Green to Blue: 50 Diamantine, 200 Plasteel.
  • Blue to Purple: 150 Diamantine, 400 Plasteel.
  • Purple to Gold: 350 Diamantine, 900 Plasteel.

From level Green, you get better stats. You can see them here:

  • Green: 1x Boost
  • Blue: 1x Boost, 1x Bless
  • Purple: 2x Boost, 1x Bless
  • Gold: 2x Boost, 2x Bless

Earn Blessing: At Hadron you can also sacrifice your weapon. In return, you get the blessing that was on this weapon. However, the weapon will be lost.

Combine Blessings: It's combining 3 votives into one improved votive. Most votive offerings have a maximum level IV.

Re-Bless: Here you can exchange a blessing for a blessing of a votive offering. In doing so, the original blessing is lost.

Refine Item: Hadron attempts to change the strengths of the item. Thus, when refining, you can exchange an existing perk for a new random one. The more you refine an item, the more expensive it becomes.

Release Preparation: If you want to prepare yourself perfectly for the upcoming release, we have already compiled a list of all weapons for you. We’ve also explained the weapon system with its perks and attributes in more detail. However, you might want to decide beforehand which of the four classes you would prefer to play. For this purpose, we have taken a closer look at all the classes and presented their strengths and weaknesses.
