On February 16th, the Monster Hunter competitor Wild Hearts released its beasts for the kill. However, the hunt is marred by weak performance; here you can find the best graphics settings for more frames per second.
What this is about: With Wild Hearts, developer Koei Tecmo has a serious Monter Hunter rival in stock as of today. Everything could be fine for fans of action-heavy monster hunts, if they weren't disturbed by performance issues. Does that mean you have to wait patiently for a performance patch?
No, because we have dealt with the problem and found very useful graphics settings that throw Wild Hearts on the screen with 15-20 FPS more, without incisive losses in the visuals. We'll show you how to adjust these settings below.
On our test system consisting of ...
Core i7-8700k with 6x 3.7 GHz
GeForce RTX 3060
32 Gigabytes of DDR4 RAM
... Wild Hearts ran in Full HD at maximum settings with 54 to 60 frames per second. This is quite acceptable, but on this hardware it indicates that optimization is still possible. The graphics settings we adjusted brought up to 80 frames per second in the test, while the average was a decent 75 frames. The screenshots below show you which losses have to be accepted for this.
If you can live with the result, open the pause menu by pressing the Espace key. There, click on "Settings", and switch to the tab "Graphics" in the next screen. Now make the settings shown below.
Et voilà: That was it. If your computer is a bit older and the game does not run smoothly, you will have to adjust the graphics settings. Start with the shadows and reduce the particle, reflection, and object quality if necessary.
