The Monster Hunter clone Wild Hearts has been launched and can be played with up to 3 players in co-op and even via crossplay. We'll tell you how the co-op works and how you can hunt for the Kemonos together with your friends in crossplay.

Here's what's going on: In Wild Hearts, you can travel a large Asian world and hunt for Kemonos, large nature-loving animal creatures. The gameplay is very similar to Monster Hunter, but also offers its own twists. Wild Hearts can also be played with up to 2 other hunters, even across all platforms thanks to crossplay.

How the Coop Mode Works in Wild Hearts

You must complete the tutorial to play Wild Hearts in coop mode with friends. Once you reach the first camp, you can continue the game in coop. To do this, you will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Build a campfire.
  2. Sit at the campfire and select the "Online Play" option.
  3. Create a session:
    1. Here you can choose various keywords, set the language, select whether everyone or only friends can join, and create a password.
    2. Your friends can then join your game using these details.
  4. Join a session:
    1. You can search by selected keywords if you want to join a session.
    2. Sessions of friends are always displayed at the top anyway.
    3. Here you can quickly join with one click.

Once you have created a session, you can open your map in the game and switch to the friends tab. Here you will see all your EA friends, who you can then invite directly into your session.

How to Get Help from Other Players in Wild Hearts

These are hunter gates: Hunter gates are another option to search for teammates in Wild Hearts. These are located all over the game world, and you can select a kemono that you want to fight. The game will then automatically search for a session that you can join. However, you can only search for Kemono hunts that you have already completed.

Here's What you Need to Know about Coop in Wild Hearts

In Wild Hearts' coop mode, one player creates the session, and 1 to 2 others join it. While the 2 other players can use almost everything in the game world, there are certain activities that can only be determined by the host.

The game progress, when all players are at the same quest, is saved for everyone. Should you join a game that is more advanced or far behind your own, the coop progress will not overwrite your single player progression. However, you can take any resources, experience, skill points, and equipment you gain in coop with you to your single-player game.

All About Crossplay in Wild Hearts

Wild Hearts is available on various platforms, and via the crossplay function, you can play with other players everywhere:

  • PC: Steam
  • PC: Origins
  • PC: Epic Games Store
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • PlayStation 5

Crossplay is generally enabled initially, but you can turn it off in the options if needed. To play with friends across other platforms and find them more easily, you need to connect your accounts to your EA account and add your friends.
