Since ARK: Survival Evolved was released on PS4, it has been quite a controversial game. The port was available for PS4 users to get on 6th December 2016 and it had gathered a number of complaints regarding server issues. A certain number of steps can be taken to negate these problems. Below you will also find the commands for the admin console that can be used on PS4.
Creating your own ARK: Survival Evolved server on PS4
A majority of issues regarding poor performance and crowded servers can be fixed by creating your own server. There are two ways to host a server on the PS4. The first being to run the server from a second console (PS4, obviously) and the second being a little more complicated. The host can act as a server in which you or someone else can join a server that you host. The only limitation being is that the other player cannot be more than 200m away from the host due to performance limitations on the PS4. Below you will find a video explaining both the methods:

You can open the Admin Console on PS4 by pressing the START button. All of the commands listed below can be entered in to the console.
