Developer Crytek has today released update 1.12 for the tactical shooter Hunt: Showdown. We at Guided.news summarise all the important information for you.
When will the update be released? The update 1.12 was played on the live servers today, 29 March 2023, and can be played immediately.

New Content: Two New Questlines in Hunt Showdown
With the release of the new update 1.12 of Hunt Showdown, you get two new questlines at once. Both new sections are already playable on the test servers. But here they are not yet in their final form, some aspects might change. Also the start date of both questlines is not final. The two new questlines of Hunt Showdown are called:
- The Ward of The Reptilian – March 22 to April 22, 2023.
- Vengeance of the Skinned – April 26 to May 27, 2023.
What else is new here? With the two new questlines, players will be able to share all of their progress for the first time. Until now, only PvE achievements were shared. With Update 1.12, however, PvP quest achievements will also be shared as a team, so you’ll always complete your missions together.

New Weapon Variants
At the launch of the new questlines and update 1.12, the new weapons and variants of existing weapons are only available by completing the tasks. Since the questlines are only playable for a limited time, the developers are adding them to Hunt Showdown’s normal unlock grid after the time expires. The weapons you’ll get in the new Hunt update are:
Winfield M1876 Centennial Shorty
- Construction: Shortened variant of the Centennial
- Ammo: Uses medium ammo – 5+1 bullets & 12 bullets in reserve
- Features: Stronger recoil and roll.
Winfield M1876 Centennial Shorty “Silencer”
- Construction: Shortened version of the Centennial but with silencer
- Ammo: Uses medium ammo – 5+1 rounds & 12 rounds in reserve
- Features: Stronger recoil and silencer – both slightly less powerful
Springfield M1892 Krag Bayonet
- known Springfield M1892 Krag but with bayonet.
- Costs 420 $ in the store.
Springfield M1892 Krag Sniper
- known Springfield M1892 Krag but in the sniper variant with a large scope.
- Costs $610 in the store.
New Tutorial for Starting the Game for New Players
To make it easier for new players to get started in HUnt Showdown, the developers have prepared a new tutorial for Update 1.12. While there was already an existing tutorial, it wasn’t immersive or detailed enough for the team at Crytek. Hunt’s tutorial is divided into two sections:
- Basic Tutorial: here you learn the basics of Hunt Showdown, such as controls, HUD, weapons and indicators.
- Advanced Tutorial: Here you’ll learn more about the locations on the map, called compounds. Besides, you’ll get an introduction to each AI enemy in the game.
In addition, the new hunt tutorial is now fully dubbed. Veteran hunter John Victor, voiced by Doug Cockle, guides you through the tutorial and accompanies you on your first steps in the bayou.
New Equipment Screen
Legendary items and skins are treated differently than before. They are now listed as skins in the equipment menu, which you can easily change when selecting a weapon. The last skin you selected for a weapon or piece of equipment is saved as the default. However, you cannot skin contraband, unlocked, or dirty weapons that you bring back from a raid.
New Wildcard Contracts (Test Phase)
With the Hunt Showdown update 1.12, the etndevelopers bring a new form of contracts into the game. Now you can choose between two upper options:
- Standard Contract: Offers you random game conditions.
- Wildcard Contract: Offers you a fixed time of day and or goal.
Gameplay changes in Hunt Update 1.12
1. Combat Log
The new Combat Log is supposed to record more events that happened during your game. Also, the damage you do and the damage you receive should now be displayed more clearly. Among other things, you can now clearly see why you narrowly lost a fight: For example, the new combat log will tell you that you shot your enemy in the arm, but he shot you in the head. This way you can better evaluate a victory or a defeat. In addition, the battle log should give you events with time, among other things:
- When did you heal?
- When did you pick up a clue?
- When did you banish a boss?
2. Revised Weapon Stats
If you want to buy a weapon, you must know its strengths and weaknesses. In order to make this easier for beginners and pros, the Crytek team has adjusted the weapon stats. Among other things, certain icons have now been exchanged here and more points have been added. Here is the result:
3. Gameplay Adjustments for Solo Players
Solo players are close to Crytek’s heart and that’s why they came up with some balance adjustments for Update 1.12. These are meant to help solo players get a fairer and more balanced gameplay experience. So they’ve adjusted the following traits and given them solo player extra effects:
- Necromancer: You can revive yourself once. You have 10 seconds after your death to do so.
- Magpie: You now get all three effects instead of one random one. (Regeneration, Stamina, and Antidote). Solo players also get 200% Darksight boost and 200% received boost on Loot and Clues boost.
- Serpent: The maximum range for interactions has been increased from 25 meters to 50 meters.
4. underdog bonus adjusted
When you enter the ring as a solo player against teams, you will now receive an even fatter reward than before. The changes are as follows:
- Solo vs. Duo – From $250 to $300
- Solo vs. Trio – From $500 to $600
- Duo vs. Trio – from $125 to $150
Customizations Weeping Stone Mill
Developers have adjusted the section by and in the water. there is a walkway leading away from the complex, you no longer have to walk through the water. The main building has also been expanded to make room for the new stairs. There is a new entrance behind the water wheel and the basement area has been expanded with new assets and made more open.
