The February update for Rust is coming in a few weeks, and now we have a first trailer for the upcoming industry update. We’ll tell you what to expect at launch.
What’s in the update? In February, Rust fans can expect a new patch that brings big changes. With various industrial machines and pipes, you will soon be able to significantly improve your base and resource production.
All contents in the Rust Industry Update – patch notes
Storage Adaptor
This new item you can place on your crates, your locker, and on furnaces. If you have connected a crate to a kiln, the Storage Adaptor can be the basis of your new industrial equipment. You must place it on all crates and storage options, as well as your Furnace so that you can connect them to the grid.
Compatible storage options:
- Tool Cupboard
- Large Wooden Box
- Small Wooden Box
- Small Furnace
- Large Furnace
- Refinery
- Electric Furnace
- Locker
- Fridge
- Drop box
- Vending Machine
- Industrial Conveyer
The Conveyer is the computer that controls which items are transported from which box to which oven. You build the Conveyer between your adaptors and connect everything to the new pipes. By default, the conveyor moves all items it finds. However, you can set filters on its display to control exactly which items are transported where.

Pipe wrench
Instead of a hammer, you use the new pipe wrench to build the pipes. The construction of pipelines is somewhat different compared to power lines:
- Pipes can’t be run through walls and floors.
- They can’t go through vending machines.
- They come in 4 colors, so you can remember which pipe goes where.

Industrial Splitter/Combiner
A total of four pipes converge at this device. You can split incoming items here. If you have connected three boxes to it, you can divide 600 wood into three boxes at 200 each.

Industrial Crafter
With this machine, you upgrade your workbench, which level it has doesn’t matter. You can attach the Crafter to a Conveyer, which is connected to a crate, using pipes. Select a blueprint in your crafter and let it produce the items as long as the resource stock in the connected crate is sufficient. This way you can produce hundreds, if not thousands, of bullets or explosives. The only thing you have to take care of is the resource supplies.

Electric stove
This new stove from the Rust industry update is powered by electricity and does not require wood. Also no charcoal jumps out for you so. The advantage is that the electric furnace works a lot faster and lets your items melt more quickly.

When will the patch be released? Rust’s industry update will be released on February 23, 2023. The time is not yet known, but we will provide it as soon as we know more. The developers have also not yet announced further patch notes for balancing or bug fixes.
