After graduating from high school, I initially wanted to study instrumental music. However, eventually I pursued a career as a video game journalist, which I started at the prestigious Ehapa-Verlag publisher, among others. Today, I share my extensive video game expertise with Guided. I benefit from over 40 years of experience with PC and console games, as well as my work in game development for the indie studio Knights of Bytes. I understand how video games work, and I also know how to convey my knowledge in an understandable manner.
Experience
My journalistic career began in 2013 at the print magazine Return, whose collaboration with Ehapa Publishing opened the doors for me to the Yps magazine. I received my baptism by fire in online journalism in 2016 at Survivethis.news; this was followed by writing activities for renowned magazines like GameStar.de, Gamepro.de, and PC Games Hardware. I have been holding my editor position at Guided.news since 2021.
Job and Responsibility
My position at Guided.news is editor. Part of my job is:
Write new articles.
(Fact) check and update new or existing content.
Help our authors improve their writing skills.
Favorite Games
My first encounter with video games was in 1982 on the Magnavox Odyssey 2 console. I was instantly fascinated by the pixelated, alternate worlds, but at that time, they weren't quite appealing enough for me. That's why I quickly switched to the famous Commodore 64, where I also developed my first musical skills.
In 1996, the first PlayStation joined my C64, to be followed by many more consoles and computers such as the Amiga 500, a 486 PC, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii. In 2006, I started a professional music career, which I ended in 2014 to become a composer at the German game developer Knights of Bytes. Over time, I have specialized in role-playing games from all over the world, open worlds, and horror games.
My favorite game is The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, as it is for me the most immersive role-playing game of all time.
