Demon hearts are one of the most important alchemy consumables in Diablo 4 because you need them to improve your healing potions. But what's the best way to farm this rare resource?

What is going on? To unlock better healing potions from the alchemist in Diablo 4, you need demon hearts, among other things. Where you can find this resource and how to farm it most effectively is explained in this guide.

How to farm demon hearts for healing potions

What do I need demon hearts for? As already mentioned, Demon Hearts in Diablo 4 serve one purpose above all, namely the improvement of healing potions at the Alchemist. Specifically, you need a certain amount of this resource for each of two upgrades:

  • Medium Healing Potion (level 45): 5 demon hearts, 20 gallows vine, 12 howler moss, and 900 gold - Heals 255 life and 35 percent of max life over three seconds.
  • Superior Healing Potion (level 90): 20 Demon Hearts, 10 Forgotten Soul, 20 Angel's Breath, 10 Devil's Rose, 20 Grave Dust, 36 Plague Shadows, 36 Howler Moss, and 12,500 gold - Heals 1,274 lives and 35 percent of max life over three seconds

So you'll need a total of 25 Demon Hearts if you want to upgrade your healing potions to the maximum level possible.

How do I farm demon hearts? Basically, you get demon hearts as loot from various enemies in Diablo 4, but they have to be special demons. The chance that the loot you are looking for will drop increases with the level of the world tier in which you're playing.

If you want to farm demon hearts specifically, you can do that in several ways, namely by killing one of three rare enemies. Now we'll explain where you can find these enemies.

Enemy #1: Almunn

Go to the Dry Steppe region and travel west to the Scarred Coast. There, you will find a rare enemy named Almunn, who leaves a demon heart as loot when you defeat him in battle.

The rare enemy Almunn drops a demon heart as loot.

You can always challenge Almunn to battle again by simply logging out and logging back in with your character. While you have no guarantee that the boss will reappear right away, in most cases a few relogs will be enough to bring Almunn back on the scene.

Enemy #2: Faraya Tehi

Travel to Tarsarak in Kehjistan and run west. There, southwest of Alcarnus, you'll encounter the rare foe Faraya Tehi, who drops a full five Demon Hearts. You may have to wait a bit for this boss to appear, but the five hearts should be worth it.

Near the Amber Sands and near Alcarnus, you will find two elite enemies that drop five Demon Hearts each.

Enemy #3: Abe-Mari

If you don't have luck with Faraya Tehi, you can find another enemy nearby who also drops five Demon Hearts. On the western coast of Kehjistan, north of the Amber Sands, you will encounter Abe-Mari. Again, you may have to wait a bit for the spawn.
