The Night Shards in Disney's Dreamlight Valley serve several purposes:
To obtain Night Shards, you don't have quite as many options, but we'll list all the ones we know of below:
Digging: As you make your way through the various biomes of Dreamlight Valley, you've probably noticed the glittering clusters on the ground. If you take your shovel and dig there, you will receive night shards or dream shards.
Remove Night Thorns: Night Thorns always haunt Dreamlight Valley, which means you should remove them one way or another. This not only lets you earn Night or Dream Shards, but also completes Dreamlight Valley tasks that give you an extra amount of Dreamlight as a reward.
Feeding animals: After feeding an animal, you will receive rewards, including Night Shards. Here, however, the probability of receiving a Night Shard is quite low.
