There are two types of upgrades to your consumables that you can get, namely:

Completing all of the above quests at the beginning of the game will make your game much easier because, with such powerful upgrades, you will be able to go into battle without fear of being defeated. In addition, other rewards that you can get after completing missions will be a nice bonus.
