Unfortunately, in Palworld, you can't do more than level up your Pal from the start, but later on, you'll unlock a new structure that will change everything. We've spent many hours in the game, thoroughly explored this process, and are ready to explain how fusion works in Palworld.

Before you start fusing your Pals, you should think about how you're going to do it. There is a separate structure for this mechanic called Pal Essence Condenser, and as mentioned above, you won't be able to access it from the beginning.
The fact is that the ability to unlock this structure in the Technology tab is available only at level 14. If you have already reached this point, then do not rush to rejoice because the next problem is that instead of regular Technology Points, you will need to spend Ancient Technology Points. To unlock the structure, you will need as many as 2 ATP, and they, in turn, can be obtained after killing bosses, provided that you defeated them the first time.
So, when you finally unlock the Pal Essence Condenser, you will have to craft this structure from the following resources:
The only difficulty in this craft may be the lack of Ancient Civilization Parts, as we experienced. To get this rare resource, you will need to kill bosses, just like with Ancient Technology Points. Unlike ATP, you can kill a boss that you have already defeated again to get this resource.
So when you're finally done with building, you'll eventually be able to use the Pal Essence Condenser to fuse your Pals. When you interact with the construction, you will notice the interface is divided into two sections. On the left are all the Pals you've captured, and on the right are general information and interactive buttons that are used to perform fusion operations.
To perform a fusion, you will first need to select the Pal you want to fuse. When you do, the Pal icon will appear in the right section, along with a bar that you need to fill in to perform the fusion. To fill in this bar, you'll need to find and catch Pals of the same type as the one you want to fuse. If you have enough animals to condense, then fill in the bar and then click the Begin Condensation button to achieve the desired result.
There are 4 levels (stars) that you can get for Pal. For example, to get the first star, you need to have five Pals of the same type, one that will be improved and another four that you need to sacrifice to fill the scale. With each next level, the number of Pals you require to fuse will increase, so it will take you a long time to reach four stars for all your Pals.
