Funcom’s open world, sandbox adventure, Conan Exiles, has been making waves since its release. It seems to be all anyone’s talking about and is set to be adapted to both Xbox One and PS4 consoles. However, surprisingly, Nintendo Switch isn’t apart of their future porting plans.
Nintendo Gets Left Out & Future Platform Plans
Conan Exiles’ game director, Joel Bylos, admitted to DualShockers that Funcom has no plans to adapt the game to Nintendo Switch and mentioned they have not spoken with Nintendo either. In the same interview, Bylos also confirmed that Conan Exiles is already running on Xbox One internally. Although, he stated, “the game looks pretty good”, he spoke of work still needing to be done to the control system. He has expressed a liking for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s hotbar selection handling, and even took inspiration from it.
A version for Xbox One is in development and set for a release through the console’s Game Preview system during the third quarter of 2017. In addition to this, a second biome will be introduced, evolving the game map from solely desert to highlands and mountains. Conan Exiles is currently available to purchase through Steam Early Access on PC platforms.
Conan Exiles has plans to become available for PS4, but a release date has not yet been confirmed. If you’re interested in knowing more about Conan Exiles and want to keep up to date with new developments, read more here.
