Dogs in DayZ? It sounds like something out of a fairy tale, but yes, the survival game DayZ lets you get your own dogs now. This listens and follows you, or fights against zombies on command. However, there is a catch: this only applies to PC gamers, because it is a mod.
This is the mod: In the DayZ Dog Mod you can expect exactly what the name promises - namely dogs. These come in a wide variety of forms and variations. All races are based on the model of the wolf in DayZ, so they have just been coated with a new texture:
But where should your four-legged friend actually sleep? Actually, The DayZ Dog Mod offers various accommodations that you can find or build. On the one hand, there are modern kennels, small dog houses or large accommodations that are cobbled together from boards.
To keep your little friend from getting bored while you leave them alone, you can give them a rubber bone as a present.
What can the dogs do? Besides being cute, the dogs in the mod for DayZ actually have a lot to offer. On command, they can follow you, patrol or wait in one place. If you lose your four-legged friend, that's no problem either, because he'll come back to you with a whistle.
Apart from that, they will also fight by your side against zombies and players. Unfortunately, they are currently as clumsy as the wolves in the game, which is not surprising given their origin.
Summon instead of tame: It may sound strange, but in the DayZ Dog Mod you don't look for a dog in the wilderness and then painstakingly tame it Ark-style. You conjure him much more in his dog kennel. And this is how it works:

How to install the mod: It's very simple and there are only two options to install. With the first one, you simply join a server via the DZSA launcher that offers this mod. It will be downloaded automatically.
