Many players have been calling for it, and now it was announced that the last-man-standing shooter PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS could be appearing in Early Access for Xbox One and will be getting a full release for PS4. BATTLEGROUNDS producer Chang-han Kim reportedly told Korean webzine Inven:
“There is something called ‘Game Preview’ on Xbox One. It’s like Early Access for Xbox. We have the game running on that and are in process of polishing it. For the release, we’ll both release it on PlayStation and Xbox.”
The Battle Royale game already runs internally on "Game Preview" for Xbox One. The game lacks polish, however, and is being fine tuned before release.
After the highly successful early access launch on Steam on March 23, 2017, the desire for console ports came quickly from the community. At the scheduled full release of PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS in late summer 2017, the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be completed. Whether the quote from Kim can raise hopes for an earlier release of the shooter on the "Game Preview" program for Xbox One can only be speculated. We will keep you up to date.
PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is currently available in Early Access on Steam for PC.
