DayZ Expansion Base Building: The preliminary checklist makes it easier!

This is the prerequisite: On some DayZ Expansion servers you can build wherever you want. Most servers, however, have building restrictions like DayZ Epoch or Exile, which means you need a flag. Either you just build them or, what is more likely, you have to buy them for money in the safe zone.

This is the construction principle: No matter what you build, you always need the right building kit. You craft them from two sticks and a rope. With a simple left click you can change which kit you want to receive.

  • Floor kit
  • Wall kit
  • Stair kit
  • Ramp kit

Take the kit in your hand and click the left mouse button. Some kind of 3-D blueprint should appear in front of you. Now you can place your first object. All subsequent base elements are adjusted to the edges of the existing floor as in a plug-in system. You can turn it off with the "X" key to move it freely. This applies to all components of the DayZ Expansion Base Building.

Place it, add materials, build the foundation, then choose the blueprint you want, build again. You see, the system always follows the same principle!

Step by step to your own DayZ expansion base!

1. Floor / Foundation

  • 10 Planks
  • Hatchet or hammer
  • 30 nails
  • 4 Lumber (3m)
  • Floor Kit

Every house and base construction begins with the foundation. To place your first floor, you craft a floor kit, or a floor set. You can now place this near or directly under your flag (if required).
From here you keep building outwards until you have created your desired floor plan.

  • 10 Planks
  • Hatchet or hammer
  • 30 nails
  • 2 Lumber (3m)
  • Wall Kit

When you're happy with your floor plan, get to work quickly pulling up the walls. The room layout can wait, always start with the outer walls! But do not build everything directly, how to integrate doors and windows into your DayZ Expansion Base, you will find out in the next section.

Also, you might be wondering how to get 3, 1.5 & 1 meter lumber / wooden board. To do this, you simply take a saw and cut a large tree trunk. Switch through the crafting recipes here until you have the right length. With the shorter boards you can build lower walls or railings!

3. Doorways & Windows

  • 10 Planks
  • Hatchet or hammer
  • 30 nails
  • 2 Lumber (3m)
  • Wall Kit
  • Code Lock

To add a door or window, all you have to do is cycle through the construction options after the foundation has been set up until the plan you want appears.

Once you have decided on the door frame, you can now attach a code lock. Set the code for it, and you're done!

4. Roof and Floor Port

  • 10 Planks
  • Hatchet or hammer
  • 30 nails
  • 4 Lumber (3m)
  • Floor Kit

You need a roof or hatch so that it doesn't rain into your base, or you can take a flight of stairs to the next floor. To set it up using a floor kit again for this, but look up!

5. Stairsdayz-expansion-stair

  • 10 Planks
  • Hatchet or hammer
  • 45 nails
  • 4 Lumber (3m)
  • Stair Kit

Modern living often takes place on several floors. To get a staircase in the DayZ Expansion Base Building, all you have to do is place a stair kit and build it up.

6. RampsDayZ-expansion-base-building-guide

  • 10 Planks
  • Hatchet or hammer
  • 45 nails
  • 2 Lumber (3m)
  • Ramp Kit

Ramps are especially necessary for the safe stowing of vehicles. With Base Building in DayZ Expansion, you can not only build a home for yourself, but also garages or an entire hangar.

If a single ramp doesn't reach all the way to the ground, just build a second one without snap mode. Press "X" while placing it to turn it off. Now, maneuver the blueprint to line it up with the first ramp.
