In the early game of Dead Island 2, you'll meet the gray mottled Curtis, who waves at you from the roof of his house with a shotgun. He asks you to turn the power back on for his home, and this guide tells you what to do.

Here's what it's about: Early on in Dead Island 2's Bel Air District, you'll meet Old Curtis, who approaches you with a few problems. The first one is about a power failure in his house, which he asks you to fix. The task is literally to turn the power back on, but to do that you won't have to fix a fuse or pull a lever, but you'll have to do it in an unconventional way. Below you'll learn the very straightforward solution to the electricity problem.

Dead Island 2: How to Turn Power Back on at Curtis' Home

Once Curtis has told you to turn the power back on, go to the light blue quest marker near the house. Watch out, a zombie will stumble out of the marked room and attack you. Once you've atoned for the attack, open the door and you'll spy a fuse box ahead. Stay back, as an open power cable on the floor makes the area in front of the box inaccessible.

Turn around, run straight ahead a bit and then jump back over the fence onto the street. There are at least two cars there; take the battery from one of them. Take it back to the fence and run through the dark gate back to the power room. Stand in the door (see screenshot below), activate the aiming mode by clicking on the right mouse button and throw the battery so that it comes to rest directly under the fuse box.

After that, half the room is electrified for a moment, which jumps over to the box and lets electricity flow through Curtis' home again. Now you can devote yourself entirely to his next problem, the use of the stair lift without a staircase. The bottom line here, however, is just to knock two waves of zombies to smithereens. Have fun with it!
