Season 1 of Diablo 4 has started, and with the seasonal theme of “Malignant” it also brings “Malignant Invokers” as new items to the game. We'll tell you how the Malignant Invokers work.
Here's the deal: The first Season launched on July 20 in Diablo 4 and is titled “Season of the Malignant”. This describes the season theme that changes with each season and brings unique features. In this case, they are the Caged Hearts and the Malignant Invokers. This guide will explain what the Malignant Invokers are all about.
The Malignant Invokers come in four varieties as a new item in the game, and you can craft them yourself. All you have to do is find Cormond's workbench, which he has set up in the Dry Steppes south of Ked Bardu and in Kyovashad - you will find more workbenches during the Season story. However, you must have completed or skipped the main campaign to do so.

The Malignant Invoker in Diablo 4 are consumable items that you can use at the end of the new Malignant Tunnels (New Dungeons). Here, you'll find outgrowths where you can use a Wrathful or one of the three standard Invokers to summon a strong elite opponent.
If you defeat the summoned enemy, it will drop a caged heart that is stronger than the hearts you can craft or otherwise find. You can see which Invoker you need before entering the dungeon by hovering over the Malignant Tunnel on the map. The tooltip at the top will show you which Invoker you need to craft.
The various Malignant Ichor you need to craft the caged hearts and Malignant Invoker can be obtained from events within the Diablo 4 game world. They will appear in your resources tab once you have collected them. But you can also get them in Malignant tunnels.
In addition to the already-known events from the standard Diablo 4, there are a few more events in Season 1, mainly concerning malignant boils. You can also find these scattered around the game world, only ichor are not always dropped here.
Events are a sure source of Malignant Ichor.
