Clay is an important resource in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You need it for various quests, for example from Goofy or Minnie Mouse. But it is also a component of various crafting recipes.
Sooner or later you won’t be able to avoid looking for clay in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, you won’t find it everywhere in the game. In our guide, we will show you where you can find clay and what you need it for.
Here you can find clay
In the entire world of Disney Dreamlight Valley, you can find clay in only three areas:
- Glade of Trust
- Sunlit Plateau
- Forgotten Lands
If you’re still relatively early in the game, you’ll probably only have access to the Glade of Trust. This is perfectly sufficient for collecting clay. All you have to do is go to this area and dig. So pick up your shovel and start digging. Every time you shovel, you have a chance to get clay as well as soil.
This is important: you can increase the amount of clay if you have one or more inhabitants in your party who have the “digging” bonus. This bonus gives you the chance to get twice the amount of clay with one shovel. This chance increases together with the number of inhabitants who have this bonus and the level of the friendship of these inhabitants.
Good to know: Once you complete the quest “The Last Trial” from Merlin, you will get the watering can upgrade, which will allow you to remove the large mushrooms blocking your way to the other side of the glade. Alternatively, you can switch to construction mode and simply place the fountain on the other side of the mushrooms and then use the fast travel function to get there. Now you can dig up the entire glade for clay.
That’s why you need clay in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Clay is required for different game content. Most importantly, you’ll need it for several quests or for crafting materials:
- The quest “The mysterious wreck” requires 25 x clay.
- For the quest “Remembering old times” you need 200 x clay.
- Making bricks at your bench requires 5 x clay and 1 x coal ore per brick.
These are just a few examples. So it might be a good idea to pull out your shovel and dig if you are in an area where you can find clay anyway.
