Salt is an important resource in Enshrouded, for example to produce dried furs. There are several places where you can mine a good amount of the white gold early on in the game. This guide will help you.
In this guide, you will learn:
As soon as you have freed the Huntress and summoned her to your camp, you can produce the drying rack from her and set it up in your base. You can use this production workshop to produce dried furs, which you will need to expand your backpack. For 1x dried fur, you require 1x animal fur and 3x salt. At this point, the quest “Salt Mine Location” should already be available in your quest log. This quest takes you to the Egerton Salt Mines. The exact location of the mine is shown on the map below.
The miasma completely encloses the mine. This means you only have a limited amount of time to mine the salt it contains. But don't worry, there's more than enough time. Walk along the edge of the cliff until you come to a large wooden structure that leads down into the chasm and the miasma. Position yourself so that the platform is to your right and look down into the gorge, as shown in the screenshots below.
Use the glider to fly to the mine entrance marked on the picture. Run into the mine, and you will find yourself in front of a wall full of salt, which you can mine with your pickaxe. As soon as you have collected enough salt, leave the mine the same way and fly to the right after passing the entrance to the bottom of the chasm. Walk a few meters, and you will come to the wooden construction again, where you can use the grapple hook to pull yourself out of the miasma.
Another place where you'll find a considerable amount of salt is even closer to your base (assuming you've set up your camp very close to the Braelyn Bridge, like we have). The miasma that shrouds the valley below the bridge contains a salt mine. This is a long way to the west of the bridge. The Saline Quarry lies pretty much in a straight line to the west of your starting point in the game.
It's best to run (from the Braelyn Bridge) about a hundred meters along the canyon to the west and then fly into the fog with your glider. After landing, all you need to do is continue walking west until you reach the salt mine. There are several salt deposits here that you can mine.
Be aware of your time in the Miasma, because you have to walk back out of the valley and out of the miasma. You should calculate at least two minutes for this, as the way back leads to Braelyn Bridge and up the path there.
