To learn the Bombarda spell in Hogwarts Legacy, you need to find and capture a Diricawl. This guide will assist you in doing so.

In this guide, you will learn:

  • Where to find a Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacy.
  • How to catch a Diricawl and ultimately learn the Bombarda spell.

How to Find and Catch a Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacy

Capturing a Diricawl is a part of Professor Howins' task in Hogwarts Legacy, which ultimately rewards you with the Bombarda spell. Along with the small bird-like creature, you also need to catch a purple toad. While the latter can be easily found in many places across the open world, locating a Diricawl took us quite a long time.

EN Hogwarts Legacy Assignment

You will get the Bombarda spell as a reward for catching a Diricawl.

Anyway, we eventually found a Diricawl burrow. It's located directly south of Hogwarts Castle on a small hill. You can see the exact location on the map below.

EN Hogwarts Legacy Diricawl Location

On this location you can find several Diricawls.

So if you're still missing the Diricawl, fly to this burrow and right after landing, you will see several of these small and nimble magical creatures. However, be warned, these little creatures are not easy to catch. They move at a rapid pace, back and forth, and often teleport out of reach.

To make capturing them easier, we recommend using one of the following two spells:

  • Glacius: Freezes the opponent and immobilizes them.
  • Arresto Momentum: Slows down opponents.

As soon as the Diricawl is frozen or slowed down, all you have to do is run up to it and literally put it in your pocket. Once you have also caught the Giant Purple Toad, you can return to Professor Howin and learn the Bombarda spell.
