Gold is one of the valuable resources you will need in Starfield. The rare level 2 resource is not easy to find, and players often have trouble searching for it. In this guide, we will provide all the necessary information on how to find and farm Gold in Starfield.
Gold, or Au, is used in many crafts and, like other resources, tends to run out quickly. Don’t worry, we have found out where you can get a lot of gold and will tell you about our findings. Below, you will find a bunch of planets where you can get this resource.
Starfield: How to Get Gold (Au)
Like most other resources in Starfield, gold can be found on the surface or in the caves of planets. Fortunately, there are many planets in the game, and you can explore each of them searching for this resource. Of course, not all of them will have Au because that would be too easy, but nevertheless, we can share a few planets where we found this precious resource:
Planet | Star system |
Kalira | Cheyenne |
Cruth | Narion |
Stellis A | Cheyenne |
Indum IV-d | Indum |
Jaffa II | Jaffa |
Porrima V-c | Porrima |
While exploring these planets, you can find many deposits of gold, so explore carefully as many territories as possible. In addition, you can also try to find Au in other possible ways, for example:
- Caves
- Outposts
- Interactable storage
- Robbing characters
- Looting corpses
Regardless of which option you choose, you’ll need to spend some time manually getting the gold. If you don’t want to waste your time and have enough credits to buy this resource, we have a few recommendations for you as well.

Starfield: Where to Buy Gold
In extreme cases, or when you’re really too tired of searching, you can buy gold from merchants. If you need plenty of resources, we recommend that you level up the Commerce skill first to save your credits. Merchants of gold are a bit harder to find than others, but we have found a few:
- Midtown Minerals – Akila City
- Mining League – Neon City
- Jemison Mercantile – New Atlantis
As you can see, they are all located in different cities, so you will have the opportunity to buy gold, no matter which one you are in. If you have bought all the available resources, we recommend that you find a place to sleep. This way, when you’re rested, you can refresh the merchant and see if there is any gold available.
