When you are in The Clinic during the Surgical Strike quest, the first action you have to take is to talk to Ben Armistead, but when you move on to the next stage, a bug appears. You can fix it with a console command or by stealing a keycard, and below we’ll tell you more about this.
Starfield: How to Fix Follow Ben Armistead Bug
If you’re among the lucky ones who experienced this bug during this quest, it’s not a reason to get upset, because next you’ll know two ways how to fix it:
- Restarting the quest or even reinstalling the game will not help. You need to open the console and write this command: player.setstage 1f0266 1000. It should give you a key card to the VIP wing.

And although Ben Armistead won’t get up after that, you’ll have a marker to continue the quest. After finding the clues in the next stage, the task will be updated and Follow Ben Armistead will be completed.
- You can also pick up a key card to the VIP wing yourself. To do this, leave Ben Armistead’s office and go to the Staff Area where Dr. Cassidy’s office is located. In the safe, you will find a key card and with it, you can get to the VIP wing to continue the quest.
