In the survival game Smalland, you have the possibility to claim one of the big trees, which enables you to build a safe base on them for you and also for your tribe. This guide will show you how to do that and what advantages a tree base offers.

One of the Big Trees in Smalland
The big trees are hard to miss in Smalland. You can recognize them by the mushrooms which are growing around them. Go to the base of one of these trees and climb the mushrooms, roots, and vines. Once you arrive at the top, talk to the gnome statue that you'll find next to the hot air elevator. Then choose “I want to claim this tree”, and the tree will be yours. Now you can use the hot air elevator by talking to the tree servant who operates it or by having the gnome statue call it.
The way to the top of the tree is not easy because there are places where it is not exactly sure where the path continues upwards. When you reach such a point, you should look around to see if there is a vine, root, or even some mushrooms within reach, through which you can continue your way. At the gnome statue, you can decide who can access your base:

If you have your base in the treetop, you don't have to worry about being attacked by wild insects and bugs, because they only exist near the ground.
On the big tree, you not only have a lot of space to build a nice big base for yourself or with your friends but also quite flat ground, which makes the building process much more accessible.
If you want to change your tree, you must climb and claim another tree, as described above. Your base will automatically be moved to the corresponding tree.
