Sons of The Forest is a game with a sophisticated base building system, but collecting resources alone can take forever. That’s why in this guide we’ll show you how to duplicate logs and other items to let your creative streak run wild.
What’s it about? In Sons of the Forest, everything is built from logs; your base, your walls, your towers, tree houses, roofs, floors — everything. This is where solo players in particular quickly either go into a sort of trance and sink into chord work or resign themselves, as I did. But Guided has found a way to build your dream base without clearing the entire forest or investing 20 hours of game time. The following trick currently only works in a single player Sons of the Forest game state. We now show you the following content:
- Double logs in Sons of The Forest in Singleplayer.
- Double logs in Sons of The Forest in Multiplayer
- Previous method to multiply tree trunks in Sons of The Forest.

Duplicate your logs in Single Player after Patch (March 13, 2023)
There are several methods to double your tree trunks in the single player of Sons of the Forest after the update. All of them are slow except for one: For this, you need to modify the save file of your save game. Therefore, be sure to make a backup copy. Similar to the following method, you can also change the host of your co-op game or share your save game:
Now, before you go searching for the files, add a number of logs to your log store. This number must be unique among your camps, let’s say you choose 3. This is the only way to make sure you find the right log camp in the files:
Find your save game & Adjust your log count:
- Press WIN key + R and type”%AppData%” – you will end up in the Roaming folder.
- Click on AppData in the directory bar, so you go back one folder.
- Here you will find “Local”, “LocalLow” and “Roaming”, go to LocalLow.
- Find and open the “Endnight” folder, then Sons of The Forest, then click on the single folder with the long number.
- Here click on Singleplayer and then select the folder of your current save game.
- You can see the creation date in Windows.
- In this folder search the file: “ScrewStructureInstancesSaveData”.
- Open the file with Notepad++ and search with CTRL + F the following line: [{\”ItemId\”:78,\”TotalCount\”:3
- Select the number 3 and change it to the number of logs you need or want.
Finally, you just need to save the save file and load your score into Sons of The Forest. Now you can always steal logs from the log store without it emptying. If this helped you, then check out YouTuber Firespark81 (via youtube.com), who is the actual discoverer of this method.
How to Duplicate Logs in Sons of The Forest Multiplayer after Patch (March 13, 2023).
The methods from the previous patch no longer work. Fortunately, we have a new method for you, which generates infinite logs with about 5 minutes of effort. Below you can still find the old method for singleplayer.
This is how it works: You and your teammates need to build one or more log camps. This way you can set up a camp at each construction site. Then fill the log stores with logs until they are full. As the host, save the game now. Now one of your teammates must pick up the top two logs and place them directly back in the camp — repeat for all your camps. Save the game again.
Now the host must also pick up the top two logs and place them again. However, as host, you must pick up and place the logs more often. Then the host saves the game again and closes the lobby. In our test, we did this a total of 20 times to be completely sure. Our fellow players showed us this. They say that the trick would also work with fewer attempts, around 10 times would be enough. Feel free to try it out and let us know your result.
As soon as you and your friends log back in, you’ll notice that the log store is empty. However, that’s just part of the glitch, and it has to be that way. Now you can keep taking logs from the seemingly empty warehouse without the supply dwindling.

How to duplicate logs in Sons of The Forest (Old Version)
To duplicate tree trunks in Sons of The Forest, you only need two materials. A tree trunk and a stick. You can start the endless supply of tree trunks in Sons of the Forest.
- Place the log horizontally on the ground, as if you were starting a wall of houses.
- Choose a stick from your inventory and pick it up.
- Look at one end of the log and a white dashed arrow appears. It points upwards in a curve.
- Confirm the action with a left click and the tree trunk will be jacked up.
- Run against the trunk and experience the miracle: infinite tree trunks in Sons of The Forest.

Make sure that you are on a relatively straight level, this is the only way to prevent the tree trunks from slipping under the ground when you duplicate them and floating around in the water. However, if this happens to you often, you can also fix the lost logs by simply restarting your session.
If you want to use this tactic to quickly finish one of your construction projects, you can also get Kelvin to help you. If he’s already dead in your save, we’ll show you how to revive all your companions in this article, no matter how long they’ve been gone.
This is the fastest way to build: instead of sending Kelvin to get wood, instruct him to finish building the structures in the base. He will find the necessary materials and attach them to the structure. You’ll need logs, so supply your deaf assistant with them by doubling the logs over and over. With this method you’ll be able to quickly finish even the largest construction projects in Sons of The Forest.
